Our ECU runs differently than the OEM ECU. Sometimes issues on the machine will show up with our ECU, while the OEM seems to operate fine.
Below is a list of common issues, and how to resolve them so that you can get your machine back into peak operating condition.

| Cranks excessively, and only occasionally fires. | Battery weak. | The Copperhead requires at least 11 Volts to fire the sparkplug, and has a higher current draw than stock. Battery voltage when the engine is running should be 12-15 Volts. If it is below/above that, it indicates a bad battery or faulty voltage regulator. Typically issue is only present on cold starts. Try starting with a trickle charger connected to confirm. |

| Hard starting, stalling when coming off throttle, or poor performance. | Throttle position sensor (TPS) not centered properly. | Center TPS as per service manual. |
| Hard starting, stalling when coming off throttle, or poor performance. | Low fuel pressure. | ECU requires 42-43PSI at the fuel injector when the engine is running for proper operation. |
| Engine requires a lot of throttle to keep running. | Manifold Air Pressure (MAP) sensor hose kinked on crimped. | The MAP sensor is a ~1" black plastic cube that measures air pressure. If the 1/8" black vacuum line connected to it is kinked or crimped, the reading is improper. Unkink hose. |
| Repetitive start/stalls when cranking | Defective Voltage Regulator. | Unplug regulator to confirm that ATV starts fine. |
| Cranks but kicks back repeatably. | Valve lash set incorrectly. | Adjust valve lash as per ATV user manual. |
