In order for the ECU to start and idle properly, it requires the Idle Speed Control (ISC) valve zero value to be measured.  The auto calibration procedure determines the optimum "throttle stop" position for your machine.

If you are having issues starting the machine before doing the calibration, we recommend following this procedure to eliminate over-rich starts which can skew the calibration:

1)  Re-install the stock ECU.

2)  Start the engine, and let it idle until the fan turns on.  Do not rev it up or ride it during this time.

3)  Turn off the engine, re-install the Copperhead ECU.

4)  Follow the calibration procedure.
